There are two parts to Wood Badge training: the Practical and Application phases.

In the Practical phase, you will live the patrol method and experience the Scout program from Cub Scouts to Scouts BSA to Venturing. Along the way you develop a better understanding of Scouting’s youth, camping, and have lots of FUN in the process!

In the Application phase, you will put to use the skills learned during the Practical phase by working your “ticket” – a personal plan you develop that should take 6-18 months to complete. Throughout the Wood Badge Experience, you are mentored by a staff member.

Who Should Attend?

Any registered Scouter who has completed basic training for his/her registered position. Scouters who have earned their Wood Badge beads prior to the Wood Badge for the 21st Century may also participate.

Training is four parts:
  • Orientation Meeting
  • First Weekend
  • Second Weekend
  • Final Troop Meeting

Note: A midweek patrol meeting may be held between the two course weekends. Time/place to be determined by patrol members.
