Rebuilding and expanding the amphitheater at Boulder Creek Scout Reservation, dedicating it as the Bob Keller Memorial Amphitheater.
The old amphitheater at Boulder Creek Scout Reservation has served the Scouts and community for so long and the years have taken their toll. For the past several years a volunteer project has been underway to refurbish and rebuild the amphitheater better than before.
The amphitheater will be renewed with better lighting, sound and handrails. It will also be restored in a safer and more accessible form that can be more easily maintained and repaired when needed.
Bob Keller was a long-time supporter of Scouting and ran the Camp for many years. Unfortunately, Bob passed away in 2013. Since then, his close friends, along with the Boulder Creek community, and a number of Scout troops have worked to restore and improve the amphitheater. Raising money, getting materials donated, and construction work each weekend have been a labor of love. As of April 2018, the project is half-finished.
YOU CAN HELP!
The Pacific Skyline Council, Boy Scouts of America, is embarking on a capital campaign to raise the remaining funds to purchase materials to complete the reconstruction of the amphitheater. The approximate cost of the materials is $70,000, and we are pleased to offer Amphitheater Bench Tributes (ABTs) beginning at $2,000. Each bench tribute will be recognized with a brass plaque.
The Bob Keller Memorial Amphitheater will be safer and more accessible. The project will provide many more years of service for our Scouts and community. See the new plans and what’s needed to make this project come together with your help!
