We are thrilled to bring the benefits of Scouting to more kids than ever before–girls can now join Scouts BSA!
Beginning Feb 1, 2019 the Boy Scout program, ages 11-18, changed its name to Scouts BSA, and is now open to boys and girls, in separate troops. Just as before, these Scouts will earn merit badges, go camping and work toward the Eagle Scout Award. See what we offer for Boy Scouts by clicking the menu at the left. Scouts experience a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster to achieve the BSA’s objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Camping, fun with friends–and more. It’s the adventure of a lifetime.
Scouts BSA is for boys and girls who are 11, (or are at least 10 years old and have completed the fifth grade or have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award) through 17 years old. Most people associate Scouts BSA with outdoor adventure–and with good reason. Scouting is an outdoor program designed to develop character, citizenship, and fitness. With the Scout Oath and Law as a guide, Scouting helps a youth develop into a well-rounded young person. Through the advancement program, a Scout can progress in rank though achievements, gaining additional knowledge and responsibilities. Earning merit badges provides opportunities for Scouts to be introduced to a lifelong hobby or a rewarding career. In Scouts BSA, youth take responsibility for the activities of the troop. By planning and organizing activities, they develop teamwork and learn to lead as well as follow. Through the support of parents and religious and neighborhood organizations, Scouts develop an awareness and appreciation of their role in their community.
Give your son or daughter a valuable gift by encouraging them to join Scouts BSA today. The time you invest in them today will make a difference in the person they become tomorrow.
