Space Jam: A New Legacy graphic
Virtual Event – “Space Jam: A New Legacy” Microsoft Coding Workshop

Coding workshop for Wolf Cubs and up. This virtual workshop introduces students to game design and block-based coding as part of a partnership between Warner Bros., Xbox, and Microsoft Store around the film Space Jam: A New Legacy starring LeBron James and Bugs Bunny, releasing summer 2021. During the workshop, hosted online, students will design their own video game inspired by the film, and code a Space Jam-themed game with MakeCode Arcade. Capacity: 49.

Virtual Event – Minecraft Hour of Code Workshop
(For Wolf Cubs thru Scouts BSA)

Join us for this 60-min workshop to have fun learning and being inspired by computer science and AI. Using the power of code and AI we will program an adventure together. By the end of the workshop, students will be able to:

– Understand basic AI concepts
– Instruct a computer to perform fundamental coding tasks
– Experience how AI is being used in the real world to promote conservation and sustainability.

Virtual Event – Learn to Design and Code Apps Workshop
(For Webelos thru Scouts BSA)

This is Microsoft’s 13-year-old and up coding class, and is now open to Webelos with coding experience! (Students under 13 will need to select 13 or older on the web page and have parents in the room for the class.) During this workshop, participants will learn:

– What apps are and how they’re created
– How to brainstorm a good app idea
– How coding relates to apps
– Fundamentals of coding in JavaScript using block-based coding
– Basic app design skills

Virtual Event – 2021 Merit Badge Midway SOLD OUT

Registration for the Feb 27, 2021 Virtual Merit Badge Midway will open on Wed, Jan 6, 2021 at 9:00am. Registration will be limited to Scouts registered in the Pacific Skyline Council. Merit badges offered: Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Communication, Crime Prevention, Emergency Preparedness, Engineering, Fingerprinting, Law, Medicine, Personal Management, and Railroading.

Virtual Event – 1-Day Aviation Merit Badge Workshops with Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos

Earn the Aviation Merit Badge online with the Hiller Aviation Museum! A one-day virtual program includes facilitated instruction, hands-on flight activities, live-streamed exploration of aircraft inside the Museum’s collection and much more! Advanced registration is required.

Virtual Event – Follow the Iditarod!
(For Scouts of All Ages)

In this virtual workshop with Microsoft, you will explore the legendary dog sled race across Alaska known as the Iditarod. You will learn about the history of dog sledding and the Iditarod as they complete your workbook. In addition, you’ll engage in fun, informational activities within your workbooks that highlight the dog breeds most used in mushing, the equipment mushers use, and iconic checkpoints along the actual Iditarod race route.

Virtual Event – S.T.E.M. Merit Badge Midway

STEM = Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics. A virtual event for Scouts to earn STEM-related merit badges and finish incomplete ones. Choose from an A.M. or P.M. session of these 2020 classes: Animation; Astronomy; Chemistry; Energy; Engineering; Fingerprinting; Nuclear Science; Signals; Signs and Codes.

2021 Summer Camp @ Boulder Creek Scout Reservation

Even though Camp Oljato will not be available next summer, the Pacific Skyline Council is still planning the 2021 summer camp experience your troop needs! We are putting together a summer camp program at Boulder Creek Scout Reservation! There will be two week-long sessions July 4 through July 17, 2021. We will be having many of the amazing activities you have grown to love at Camp Oljato as well as some new exciting adventures. However, space will be very limited so be sure to register soon! Note: Units already registered for Oljato 2021 will have the option to move their registration to the BCSR program.

Klondike Derby

Winter camping and competition! Join your fellow Scouts and Venturers for a fun weekend in and on the snow! Featured events include Sled Race, Jumbo Ski, Snowshoe Relay, Spear Throw, Fire Building, Snowball Toss, Ice Rescue, and Moon Ball.

Camporee for All!

Scouts and Venturers learn and practice your fire building, first aid, and a host of other wilderness survival skills. Patrols (5-8 Scouts each) will compete against one another for top scores and bragging rights! For Scouts BSA and Venturers.

The council’s May 2020 Camporee was a virtual experience in order to comply with the shelter-in-place order. Click “Learn more” below to read about it.

Home Repairs Camp

Scouts and Venturers learn and practice your fire building, first aid, and a host of other wilderness survival skills. Patrols (5-8 Scouts each) will compete against one another for top scores and bragging rights! For Scouts BSA and Venturers.

Shooting Sports Weekend

A weekend packed with shooting sports activities. This event is for Scouts ages 11-17, age 10 if completed Webelos and joined a Scouts BSA troop. Scouts rotate through the various stations. Experienced instructors will conduct safety briefings, supervise all activities, and provide expert instruction. This is an amazing opportunity to experience a wide variety of shooting sports in a safe and fun outdoor environment.

Gold Rush Adventure Days

Gold Rush era-themed campout with 20+ activities for Scouts BSA, Venturers, and their Webelos II guests. Pan for gold; rope a steer; shoot a bow & arrow; throw tomahawks and shoot muzzle-loading rifles (young ‘uns can shoot pellet guns at the shooting gallery); make candles, ropes, and bullets; brand leather and wood; cook your own jerky, donuts, and bread; start your fire with flint & steel; cut wood for your cabin with a 2-man bucksaw; drink sarsaparilla and play cards at the saloon; visit the general store; and more!

Trail to First Class Camp

Got new Scouts? Here is an opportunity for them to complete many of the requirements for the ranks of Scout through First Class! Knots, cooking, fire-starting, map and compass, plant and animal identification, first aid, food safety, knife and axe safety, water safety, swim requirements, and much more

Plumbing Merit Badge Workshop

A 3-day introduction to plumbing while earning the Plumbing Merit Badge.

1-Day Aviation, Weather, Astronomy Merit Badge Programs at Hiller Aviation Museum

Scouts BSA youth can complete their requirements for the Aviation, Weather, or Astronomy Merit Badge thru special 1-day programs at Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos. (Event is not a council event, please direct any questions to Hiller Aviation Museum.)

Virtual Council Camporee (for everyone!)

Everyone is welcome to participate in the Stay-at-Home Camporee to show off your Scout skills! We will be featuring challenges to our Scouts such as first aid at home, Scout Trivia game, best Scout jokes, patch design contest, show us your mask design, and more! We will be interacting with each other through social media posts to Instagram and Facebook. This also helps spread the message that Scouting is still continuing during the Stay at home orders.

No registration needed, except for the patch. The patch will be $10. 50% of the proceeds will go to COVID-19 response non-profit. Registration link coming.

Virtual Memorial Day Remembrance (for everyone)

We will have guest speaker videos on the Pacific Skyline Council Facebook page as well as posting those videos to our website over the course of Memorial Day weekend. We are encouraging all Scouts to post a photo of themselves saluting in Uniform on to social media and tag it #UniformsThankingUniforms to show our Virtual Remembrance for those who gave up so much.
