Pacific Skyline Council

The Pacific Skyline Council is one of 308 local Scout Councils across the nation serving youth in the territory from Daly City, South San Francisco, and Brisbane in the north to Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills in the south; from the bay to the ocean on the Peninsula in the San Francisco Bay Area of California.  One of the very successful Scout Councils in the Bay Area, the Pacific Skyline Council has Service Center Offices in Foster City and Palo Alto, California.

The Council operates three camping facilities including Boulder Creek Scout Reservation and Cutter Scout Reservation in the prime coastal redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains.  In the high Sierra, the Council operates Camp Oljato each summer on the shores of Huntington Lake, east of Fresno at an elevation of 7,000 feet.

Nearly 10,000 young people are members of the Council’s Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing and Exploring (coed), Scout Reach and school based programs of Learning For Life.  The values-based belief espoused in the Scout Oath and Scout Law is the guiding principals for all these programs.

The Eagles’ Nest

This is a call to all Eagle Scouts in our local area.  We are forming an “Eagles’ Nest” --- a gathering of Eagles. Our purpose is to identify Eagle Scouts and to provide a manpower resource for the Pacific Skyline Council.

We wish to encourage you to join the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA).  As a new Eagle Scout within 60 days of your “certification date,” you can join NESA for $10.  (This membership is valid until age 23.)  A regular five-year membership is $25.  A Lifetime membership is $180.  (See NESA for more information.)

As a NESA member, we hope that you will consider participating in our Eagles Helping Eagles mentoring and networking program.

You will be invited to our Annual Council Awards and Eagle Scouts Recognition Dinner, Annual Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner, Special Pacific Skyline NESA activities and National BSA Foundation Endowment Art Tour.

We invite you to become an active member of the Pacific Skyline Council Eagles’ Nest. The purpose of our organization is to support Scouting in the Pacific Skyline Council. We will accomplish this goal through the work of our operating committees to be established at our first gathering in the fall of 2007.

Our Council’s Eagles’ Nest - Eagles Helping Eagles Committee is for Pacific Skyline (registered) adult Eagle Scouts to help young Eagles through the Eagle Scout Career Mentorship Program. Should you desire to participate in the Eagle Scout Mentorship Program, we will ask that you complete an adult BSA registration application and pay the annual $10 registration fee.

Also, we will ask that you complete the Pacific Skyline Eagles’ Nest online registration form.  Any information you provide below the dotted line (on our PacSky enrollment form) will be released to new Eagle Scouts that have chosen a career path similar to your own. All other information will be used for Scouting purposes only. The Mentorship Program is just one way that an Eagle Nest member may contribute to the success of every young Eagle Scout in Pacific Skyline Council. Register today and begin helping Pacific Skyline's young men to grow and succeed.

Perhaps you have a young son in Cub or Boy Scouts, maybe your son/s has completed his/their youth scouting and you’re an “empty nester”, or perhaps you have a desire to use your efforts and influence toward forming the kind of young men America needs for leadership.  The packs, troops, districts and the Council have opportunities for you to serve.  You simply need to raise your hand.

No doubt, you have fond memories of your scouting days --- we hope you will consider giving back to Scouting with your time, talent and financial resources.

Thank you,

Pacific Skyline NESA Committee
